Cato signs for college golf

Blackhawk golfer and Pea Ridge High School senior Harrison Cato signed a letter of intent to play golf at Delaware Valley University, Doylestown, Penn., where he will play the number one spot on the golf team, according to Blackhawk Golf coach Dalton Palarino.

Cato said he plans to major in turf management and hopes to be a superintendent at a prestigious golf course after graduation.

Cato's golf highlights and awards, according to Palarino, are:

Sophomore Year

• High School Most Improved Player

Junior Year:

• Number spot 1 in all matches

• Finished second individually and sixth overall at the District Match

• All Conference

• State Tournament Qualifier

• Team MVP Award

• Shot an average nine hole score of 43 for the year

Senior Year

• Played number one spot in all matches

• First individually and third overall at the District Match (78)

• State Tournament qualifier

• Top 20 out of 72 golfers at the State Match (84)

• Shot an average nine hole score of 39 for the year
