I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. This last Saturday, the Friends of the Pea Ridge Community Library had a car wash. We had fun raising funds for our expanding Summer Reading Program. Thank you to all who stopped and gave their support, it is greatly appreciated.

Please mark your calendars for the Summer Reading Kickoff Party from 3-6 p.m. on Saturday, June 3. All students from kindergartners to eighth grade students can come register for the Summer Reading Program as well as bring their family for a complimentary BBQ, listen to some wonderful music, have a turn in the bouncy house, get their face painted, listen to a story time, and check out some amazing vehicles from the Street Department, Fire Department and Police Department. Officers from the Police Department will be here taking fingerprints and making ID cards for the children and the Optimist Club will be here checking eyes for free.

This week, the library has the honor of hosting 45 archaeologyand graduate students from around the world. We have people here from Turkey and Germany, multiple university professors and international researchers. They are here to learn about the cutting edge of remote sensing and geo physical techniques. You will see them here at the library and out on the field at the end of Lee Town inside the Military Park. The library staff is very excited to have them here.

Today we have the regular story time and craft at 10:30 a.m. This afternoon, members of the seventh- and eighth-grade Book Club meet. Thursday, the monthly board meeting will begin at 1 p.m.

Next Monday is the last day of school! We will have a very special Lego Club. It will be 1:30 -- 3 p.m. for the home school community and 3:30 -5 p.m. for the public school children.

Just a reminder that our community room is for rent; it is the perfect space for all your summer parties.
