New Meadowbrook Club

Members of the New Meadowbrook Club of Garfield met at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, at the Community Center in Lost Bridge. Karen Launderville, president, presided at the meeting and members discussed the club project which is to provide food and items for the Animal Shelter in Springdale.

Food for the volunteers is taken each month the morning of the club meeting and also items needed at the shelter.

As Rheta Van Doren is leaving our area she was honored with a gift from the club members and also two items were read to her by President Karen. Rheta has been a member of the club since 1983.

Food was then served by Terri Jarding and Nancy Bray of Veggies and Delicious Cup Cakes.

Granny's Quilts of Love

Granny's Quilts of Love will meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, in Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church, 1300 N. Davis St., Pea Ridge.

We will be cutting batting. Bring scissors and all finished quilts and batting trimmings.

To date, Granny's members have made 23,884 quilts, 7,317 caps and 7,063 pillows, and all have been donated to Arkansas Children's Hospital.
