Freedom Fest fun

Makayla James, Holly James, Brent Ferguson, Dayna James, John Garret, Steve Jordan and Wyatt Garrett played instruments and sang during the annual Freedom Fest Sunday evening.

There were several bounce houses for children at Freedom Fest.

Kinley Keser, 6, daughter of Wes and Vanity Keser, had a patriotic star painted on her cheek for Freedom Fest.

Kellen Enke, 6, enjoyed wearing an old trooper hat of his father's, while at Freedom Fest. Kellen, son of George and Jamie Enke, and his big sister, Loren Enke, 11, enjoyed time with their dad at the festival.

Cooper Smith and Michael Keeland, both of Avoca, helped unload fireworks from a trailer for Edwin Brewer, owner of USA Fireworks. Brewer, pastor of First Assembly of God Church donated several thousand dollars worth of fireworks to the event he and the church began several years ago.

Pea Ridge Fire Department firefighters (and brothers) Cory and Justin Lawson set out the fireworks and then, after donning protective gear, ignited the fireworks for a spectacular display after dark.
