First off, the Library Board is pleased to announce the promotion of current employee, Alex Wright, to the recently vacated position of library director. Wright has been a member of the team for more than a year and has played a huge part in the vast array of improvements. Board members said they are all very excited to see what the future has in store for her and the library. The board members thank Megan Bryant for her service and time as director and wish her the best with her new position at the University of Arkansas. Her dedication to the life long dream of joining the law enforcement is an inspiration to all and we are blessed to have such a role model in our community.

Due to recent requests, the library staff has embarked on establishing a new stimulating item to the monthly calendar of activities offered to the local and surrounding communities. Every second Tuesday of the month, at 10 a.m., the library will hold a Quilter's Club, which will provide quilters with a networking opportunity to befriend others in the craft and to share ideas. Beverages will be provided and all that are interested in such a venture are encouraged to join! For more information, contact event coordinator, Rita Madson at 501-767-7704.

At 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, the December yoga class will be held in the Library's community room. These yoga classes are ALWAYS free to adult/teenage individuals and only require that participants bring their own yoga mat. Library staff are grateful to the group at Yoga Story in Bentonville for helping provide this class at no cost. Participants may give themselves the gift of an hour of recharge and restoration this Christmas, aka: kid free time.

The best has been saved for last. Are you sitting down? For the first time ever, the Pea Ridge Community Library is proud to announce that Santa is coming to town! Jolly Saint Nick will grace our beautiful small town with his presence from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 16. With Mrs. Clauss by his side, he will hold a magical story-time of the true story of Christmas for all of the good little boys and girls who stop by to visit him. The Friends of the Library will also be here with a station set up for the kids to meet and take a picture with Santa for $5 a family. There will also be a craft station for the young ones to take part in while they wait for their turn with the big guy.
