Giving Gallery opens Dec. 3

From Staff Reports

Starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, doors to the Giving Gallery for children (ages 16 and younger) will open at the Pea Ridge Free Will Baptist Church, located at 351 Lee Town Rd.

This annual event offers an opportunity for the children of the community to experience Christmas shopping in a warm, safe environment at a very low cost. Members of the church and the community have collected items that can be purchased by children for their family and friends. All items are priced at $1 or less with most items being 25 to 50 cents.

With help from their parents, children make out a shopping list and a dollar amount to be spent. Gift items are then wrapped with gift tags for free. There will be adults and teens from the church to help each child as they go through the shopping process.

Also open for shopping will be an area for parents who are waiting for their children to complete their shopping. This area will be open to the public with new and yard sale items, home baked pies, cookies, jellies and some crafts. Shopping hours will end at 2 p.m.

All proceeds go to funding the Giving Gallery for the next year. The number of children shoppers has dramatically increase each year, and the Gallery would love to see this as the best year ever for young shoppers.
