Area residents complainted to Benton County Judge Clinard's office about the decrease in speed limits on Lee Town Road from Pea Ridge to Arkansas Highway 72, according to Jeff Clark, administrator of public service for Benton County.
"There was such an overwhelming response," Clark said, "of people not supportive of it."
"So, we put it back where it was," he said, adding that the speed limit was kept at 45 miles per hour in front of the farms but restored to 55 miles per hour east of there.
The speed limits were decreased to 35 and 45 miles per hour in those areas due to public safety concerns, Clark had said the first of February.
