Chicken for sale

The annual Chicken in the Ditch sale by the Blackhawk Band will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 22, in the high school parking lot.

Soup and Sandwich Supper set

The Pea Ridge Free Will Baptist Church will hold a benefit fundraiser Soup and Sandwich Supper followed by a pie, cake and bakery items auction on Friday, April 29, for the prison ministry of Bro. Fermin DelosSantos.

Supper will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. with no charge but donations would be greatly appreciated. Before the auction begins, Bro. Fermin will share the story of his call to minister to prison inmates.

Auction begins at 7 p.m. All proceeds from the supper and auction will be given to Bro. Fermin to purchase Bibles and other needed materials for the inmates in his ministry.

Music at the Firehouse

GARFIELD -- The 2016 season of NEBCO Fire-EMS presents "Music at the Firehouse! with The Black Oak Band" will kick off 7-9 p.m. Saturday, April 23, in the NEBCO Community Center, U.S. Hwy. 62 and South Wimpy Jones Road, Garfield. There is plenty of free parking, room to dance, no cover or admission, donations only with 100 percent going to NEBCO Fire-EMS. Mark your 2016 calendars for "Music at the Firehouse!" on the second and fourth Saturdays, April through September.

Glade Community meeting

LOST BRIDGE -- The Glade Community Historical Society is pleased to announce that Mr. John Cross is the featured speaker at the second quarter 2016 meeting at 3 p.m. April 24. The meeting is free for all GCHS members and their guests. The public is welcome, also at no charge.

Mr. Cross' topic will be "All Things, Eureka Springs" as he tells us many things we might not know about his town. The meeting is at the Lost Bridge Community Room, 12477 Lodge Drive, Whitney Mountain, out Ark. Hwy. 127 from Garfield. Refreshments will be served.

Train ride scheduled

SELIGMAN, Mo. -- The Seligman Chamber of Commerce is getting ready for the Spring train ride to Van Buren, Ark., which is slated for Saturday, May 14, and Sunday, May 15.

Travel though the beautiful Boston mountains; shop old Van Buren and shop the Arts and Crafts show. There will be music in the street and good food.

This is an all day trip. Leave Seligman City Hall about 7:15 a.m. and return about 6:45 p.m.
