Planners want developers prepared

City planners approved the preliminary plat for Maple Glen Phase II as presented by developer Kevin Felgenhauer but with several contingencies.

Those contingencies were the topic of considerable discussion as planners want developers and engineers prepared, have tech meetings to prepare them and provide a check list at the beginning of development to tell what is required.

"I'm concerned," Jerry Burton, planner, said. "In our last several meetings, we've mentioned about putting contingencies on this like this. It appears to me we have several. I'm wondering if they were covered with Kevin ... before he came in."

"Our regulations require it," Dr. Karen Sherman, planner said. "Almost every time we see ya'll we have to ask for it."

"We deal with these every time. You know. Work on it before because at some point we're going to say 'no.'" Sherman said.

Joining Felgenhauer was Brett Watts of Bates and Associates.

In other business, planners:

• Approved a home occupation for 951 Bowen St., for Randy Hansen, who said there would be no additional traffic at his home;

• Approved a home occupation for 1965 Collins Dr., for Jason VanDyke;

• Tabled a home occupation request from Aimee Gibbee for 745 Todd Circle because there was no one at the meeting to present the request.
