Jr. Blackhawks won two, lost one

Jr. Blackhawks 16/Farmington 22

Pea Ridge dropped a heartbreaker to Farmington 16-22 Thursday, Sept. 17.

Carson Rhine had 200 yards rushing, a pair of touchdowns and a 2-point conversion. Samuel Beard darted in for a 2- point conversion.

Big plays killed the junior 'Hawks, according to coach Cody Alexander. "We had some costly mistakes on the offensive side as well. Farmington broke a 75-yard touchdown run with 22 seconds in the half that really hurt us.

"But I can't say enough about our effort; we played until the last second defense forced a fumble and we had a chance to go score and win the game. We just didn't get it done. Farmington had a really good team. We look to bounce back in conference play next week against Gentry."

Carson Rhine had an interception to stop a long Green Forest drive and the Blackhawks won 20-7 and move to 2-0, coach Cody Alexander said.
