GARFIELD -- There's a new preacher at Reddick Assembly of God Church and he hopes the help the church.

"I'm after the unchurched. I'm not after anybody's church members," Jerry Daniel said, explaining that the churches doors are open to people who do not have a church home, people who "are looking to start over fresh, that are looking to come in and get back with God and get to working for God.

"We need workers. There's plenty of those folks out there. They just got out of the habit of going to church," Daniel said.

"The time is short. Jesus is going to return. People don't believe it anymore. The signs of the times are here, according to the Scriptures. We're living in the last days, waiting for his return."

Daniel, who said he's been a minister about 25 to 30 years, was born and raised in Oklahoma and attended Assembly of God churches when he was growing up. He and his wife, Gina, married April 9, 1988, and moved to Texas where they worked in the Assembly of God churches in Bonum and Sherman, then changed to the International Pentecostal Holiness Church and pastored two churches in Texas. After about 10 years, he said he was moved by the Spirit to return to Arkansas. He began working with the Assembly of God Church, New Hope Road, Rogers, in May 2014 before going to Reddick Assembly.

The Daniels have two grown sons.

"We're just trying to get our feet grounded here ... trying to reach out the community. We don't know a lot of folks," he said. The church has about 10 to 15 members.

"Our vision is to build a glorious church for God while there is still time," he said.

"I evangelize, get out and talk to other folks, get people saved, that's basically the whole goal.

"My ministry was always around getting people saved ... building the church, getting them in, getting them saved, getting them equipped and letting them go."

Daniel said Reddick Assembly is a "full gospel" church and the congregation sings hymns and choruses.

Daniel also works at Outdoor Cap.
