Planners OK bike trail

At the urging of Mayor Jackie Crabtree, Pea Ridge Planning Commission members approved a bicycle/pedestrian master plan at the regular meeting.

"This will be a tremendous asset to northwest Arkansas ... it will come in and connect the smaller communities... It will allow us to be a part of this whole thing," Crabtree said. "It puts us in the bucket for a lot of grant monies... we need Planning Commission approval so we can get it to the (City) Council."

The meeting began with a public hearing about the trail, but there was no one from the public to speak about the issue.

In other business, planners:

• Approved the large scale development plan for an addition to Legacy Storage, Weston Street;

• Elected officers naming Zachary Hoyt as chairman and Dr. Karen Sherman as vice-chairman; and

• Re-appointed Heather Clark to the Planning Commission.
