There are many new books on the shelves

Another busy week at the library has passed leaving us to wonder how it went by so quickly! All week we have heard many nice comments on our Christmas decorations. I may be just a bit prejudiced, but I think the library looks beautiful. Many thanks to everyone who had a hand in decorating.

I made a trip to the book store for new books this week. We now have the latest Tom Clancy book -- "Tom Clancy Commander in Chief" as well as the following:

"Cross Justice," which is book 23 in the Alex Cross series.

"City on Fire" is a 2015 novel by Garth Risk Hallberg that takes place in New York City in the 1970s. It is the author's first published novel.

"Ashley Bell" is Dean Koontz's must-read thriller of the year, perfect for readers of dark psychological suspense and modern classics of mystery and adventure.

"Crimson Shore" is a thriller novel by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child.

"All Dressed in White" is the latest book from Mary Higgins Clark.

"The Guilty" is a thriller novel written by David Baldacci. It is the fourth installment to feature Will Robie, a highly skilled U.S. bovernment assassin.

"Bazaar of Bad Dreams" is a short fiction collection by Stephen King.

"The Pharaoh's Secret: A Kurt Austin Adventure" (NUMA Files Series) follows the his adventures as head of the U.S. National Underwater and Marine Agency's (NUMA) special assignments team -- a job that ensures he is no stranger to danger above or below the waves.

We also purchased several new titles for the children's section including some Christmas themed books as well as the newest Diary of a Wimpy Kid book -- "Old School." I was very happy to find "Chasing Sunsets" which is book 2 of the Angels Walking series by Karen Kingsbury. All of these are on the shelves and ready for checkout.

The library will be closed Dec. 24-27 and will reopen at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28.

The library is still taking donations of used printer cartridges. We recycle them for credit at Staples. It helps to defray some of the cost of printer cartridges at the library.

I am happy to report that I saw my surgeon and everything looks good. It has been a journey and I certainly appreciate all the thoughts, prayers, cards and good wishes that have been sent my way since my June surgery. Surgeon say I have probably 12 to 18 months before I am back to normal -- whatever normal is for me!

See you at the library.
