Christmas books gathered for readers

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Mine was outstanding. I had four sons, two daughters-in-law, four grandsons and one granddaughter for a few days last week. The noise was deafening at times but now that they have all returned to their homes, the silence is overwhelming! I am so blessed that they all were able to be here.

Our own Kelsey D'Ann Parmenter, Miss Rodeo Arkansas, is competing in Las Vegas for the title of Miss Rodeo America Nov. 30 through Dec. 6. When her schedule allows, she will be reading to the children at a Story Hour. Sending good thoughts and best wishes to her.

This week, our board members and volunteers will begin decorating the library for Christmas. Tuesday, Dec. 17, is the date of our Christmas Open House. We will have light refreshments during library hours of 1 to 8 p.m. We certainly look forward to seeing many of our patrons.

Warren has pulled together our Christmas themed books for the children as well as for our adult readers. A good inspirational Christmas story is sure to put you in a holiday mood. Christmas music has been playing in the stores for some time now. It seemed rather strange to be Thanksgiving food shopping listening to Christmas carols.

Don't forget the Christmas Parade this Saturday, Dec. 5, at 5:30 p.m.

Congratulations to the Blackhawks on their win in the 2015 Arkansas 4-A State quarter-finals!

See you at the library!
