Martin to speak to Republicans
ROGERS -- Arkansas Secretary of State Mark Martin will speak at the Benton County Republican Women's Club at noon Tuesday, Sept. 16. He will explain the initiatives that will be on the ballot Nov. 4 and the process which qualifies an idea to become an acceptable initiative. The club meets every third Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. at the Golden Corral in Rogers.
Golf Classic set
The 21st annual Pea Ridge Classic, a golf fundraiser, is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Bella Vista Country Club. Events slated include a four-man scramble which is $240 per team and includes a goodie bag, raffle tickets, 18 holes with a cart, dinner and beverages.
Sponsorship packages are available and are: $150, bronze, hole sign; $350, silver, hole sign and team; $500, gold, hole sign, team 3x5 banner; and platinum, $1,000, tournament sponsor, team, hole sign, 3x5 banner, beverage cart sign.
All proceeds will benefit the community of Pea Ridge, coordinators said.

Swap Meet and Craft Show planned
SELIGMAN, Mo. -- Seligman Chamber of Commerce will have a Swap Meet and Craft show Friday, Oct. 3, and Saturday, Oct. 4. To set up a booth, call (417) 662-3612 or (479) 381-2133. Booth space is $30 for two days, inside or outside; tables are available. Food concession will be provided. The Seligman Chamber Event Center is on Missouri Highway 37 north, Seligman, Mo.

Train tickets on sale
SELIGMAN, Mo. -- The Seligman Chamber of Commerce is taking reservations for the fall train ride from Seligman, Mo., to Van Buren, Ark., which is set for Saturday, Oct. 11, and Sunday, Oct. 12.
