Blackhawks host band competition

The first Arvest Blackhawk Classic Marching Contest is slated for Saturday, Oct. 11, hosted by the Pea Ridge High School Blackhawk Band, according to band director Monty Hill.

"We would love to have you join us for this historic day for the Blackhawk Band," Hill said, adding that the admission prices are the same as for football games.

The Blackhawk Band will perform last -- at 5 p.m.

The schedule is:

• Band warm-up performance

• 2-2:30 p.m. Cotter

• 2:30-3 p.m.Green Forest

• 3-3:30 p.m. Lincoln

• 3:30-4 p.m. East Newton, Mo.

• 4-4:30 p.m. Muskogee, Okla.

• 4:30-5 p.m. Heritage (Rogers, Ark.)

• 5-5:30 p.m. Pea Ridge

• 6 p.m. awards presentation
