Touch a truck set for Sunday

Children are invited to "Touch a Truck" Sunday afternoon. From 1-4 p.m. Sunday, June 29, there will be police, fire, ambulance, Street Department, school and sheriff's vehicles on the grounds between the Pea Ridge Fire and Police stations on the southwest corner of Slack Street and South Curtis Avenue. There will be prizes awarded through drawings.

Touch a Truck is sponsored by the Pea Ridge Optimist Club.

Pea Ridge Police will offer digital fingerprinting of children and will give the fingerprints to the parents of the children for their personal records.

"This is for the community," Police Lt. Ryan Walker said, adding that the Mercy ambulance helicopter will be on site for viewing.

The second annual safety fest is free of charge.
