Many new books on library shelves

Congratulations to all the winners of the Pea Ridge Fair contests! And I hope all the alumni had an enjoyable time.

The Summer Story Hour is growing in popularity -- there were 23 children plus parents/grandparents last week. By day's end we had logged 94 visitors to the library and lots and lots of books checked out.

Parents are still signing up the children for the Summer Reading Program. Contest ends July 24. Call or come by the library or visit the library Facebook page for details.

Three children have already earned a free kid's meal from Subway! Each time a child reads or has a book read to them the library staff logs it on the record card provided by Subway. After 10 books are recorded, the card can be redeemed at Subway. It's just that easy!

Ms. Beth, who normally reads and helps the children make a craft at the Summer Story Hour each Wednesday morning, is taking this week off. Ms. Jackie will be subbing for her. Story Hour starts at 10:30 a.m. each Wednesday.

Thanks to everyone who is supplying the library staff with fresh vegetables. We are enjoying your kindness.

We are drowning in donated books and are happy to share them with you FREE! That's right -- free. Just stop by and take some home. We still have books for sale so you might want to purchase a few of those. Our prices really can't be beat.

In the next couple of weeks you will be seeing some new books on our shelves -- fiction, non-fiction, Westerns, romance, mystery, fantasy -- a little of everything. Take some time from trying to find a new way to cook squash and come check-out a book. We have some cookbooks for sale as well as for check-out -- maybe one of them will provide a new recipe! Lee and I would be happy to do an impartial taste test!

See you at the library!
