Diamond Hogs have winning spirit

The Diamond Hogs softball team lost its entire infield to travel ball this last season and drafted three girls from the Pea Ridge draft program. These girls bonded together with a great coaching staff and the willingness to learn and went to play in the Rogers girl softball league, according to Merrill White, parent of one of the players.

"Our girls went the entire Rogers season undefeated with a girl who had never touched a softball in her life, and a girl missing from an automobile accident for the entire season," White said.

The team left from Pea Ridge Friday, June 27, 2014, to play in the State Softball Tournament in Harrison to play teams that were primarily all made up of travel ball teams. The Diamond Hogs team was made up of all Pea Ridge girls with a huge heart and a will to win. They played seven games in a two-day period but in the end brought home to Pea Ridge Blackhawk Grill a State Runner-Up Trophy from a tournament that we were not expected to be in the final game.
