Monday, June 23

7:12 a.m. Police were dispatched to an alarm call at Pea Ridge Intermediate School. The building was secure; an employee said she set it off accidentally.

12:45 p.m. Police were dispatched to the parking lot at Community First Bank for an unlock on a locked vehicle. Although there were no children or animals in the vehicle, one of the occupants was an elderly, wheel-chair bound person and it was raining, so it was determined that it was in the best interest of the public to assist.

3:05 pm. Police received information from a city resident about possible child abuse at a residence outside of the city and reported it to the Child Abuse Hotline.

3:45 p.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on Drew Lane concerning a note left on a resident's door stating that the resident's dog had bitten a child who needed six stitches. There was no hospital report nor police report about a dog bite and the resident said her dogs had been inside all day. It was believed the letter was a form of harassment.

5:14 p.m. Police were dispatched to the area of It'll Do road for a suspicious person report. A caller reported two males walking on the road. Police were unable to find anyone.

Tuesday, June 24

7:36 p.m. Police were dispatched to the intersection of Slack Street and Ross Salvage Road for a civil call involving a pet bird (conure) in a tree at residence. The caller wanted permission to access the private property. She received permission, but was unsuccessful in capturing the conure.

Wednesday, June 25

5:15 p.m. A resident of Pea Ridge reported that fuel had been stolen out of his boat which was stored at Legacy Self Storage on Weston Street. It was also damaged where someone had apparently attempted to remove the starter.

5:30 p.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on Bowen Street for a report of harassment involving phone calls and threats from a male. It was determined the complainant's residence is in the county and the case was turned over to Benton County Sheriff's Office.

9:30 p.m. Police were asked to assist Gentry Police with an attempt to locate a runaway juvenile at a residence on Halleck. Police were unable to find him.

10:13 p.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on East Pickens Road for a possible disturbance. As a result of the investigation, police arrested Thomas McClain, 25, Pea Ridge, on a warrant for Bentonville.

Thursday, June 26

12:11 a.m. Police were dispatched to the intersection of North Curtis Avenue and McIntosh Street for a suspicious vehicle parked on the curb. The vehicle was vacant, locked and not blocking the road way.

10:34 a.m. Police were notified of a 911 hangup call from Autumn Home Care. There was no emergency.

11 a.m. A resident of Jones Lane reported someone had broken into his shed and stolen a welder.

2 p.m. A resident of West Pickens Road reported a vehicle stolen. She said she had allowed him to drive the truck and he promised to return it within the hour. She also said someone had broken into the house previously and stolen the title to the truck, another vehicle and miscellaneous items. The vehicle is a 1994 Ford F150 red and white in color.

3:28 p.m. A resident of Asboth Street reported a weedeater stolen off a trailer that was parked in the driveway.

5:21 p.m. A resident of Ford Street reported a burglary involving medication stolen from his residence.

5:35 p.m. Police arrested Charles Leon Gillum, 42, Pea Ridge, on a Bentonville warrant.

Friday, June 27

4:08 a.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on Eagle Crest for suspicious circumstances. The caller said there were two male juveniles walking around the neighborhood checking car doors. As a result of the investigation, police arrested two 16-year-old females and three 15-year-old males from Washburn and Exeter, Mo. According to the report, the two 15-year-old males got out of the vehicle...

The females were cited for curfew violation and released to their parents. The males were cited for curfew violations and released to the mother of one of the boys.

8:48 a.m. Police were dispatched to Starner Tax Group on South Curtis Avenue for a burglary report. According to the report, someone apparently broke a window to gain entry to the building, rummaged through desks and files and took cash and possibly keys. The incident is under investigation.

12:43 p.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on Todd Circle for a physical disturbance in progress involving a gun. According to the report, a witness said a male subject kicked in the front door and "went after" the male resident who was injured. He refused ambulance transport. He reported that the male entered his room with a small semi-automatic handgun, jumped on him and held the gun to his head. According to the report, the suspect pulled the trigger, but nothing happened so he hit the victim with the gun and then fled the scene. The incident is under investigation.

9:04 p.m. A resident of Ellis Lane reported a trailer blocking the roadway and said there was a possible disturbance. Police contacted the suspect and was advised to move the trailer. There was no disturbance.

Saturday, June 28

8:30 p.m. A resident of Smith Street reported an adult was harassing his juvenile son. Police contacted the suspect and warned him about harassing.

9:13 a.m. Police were dispatched to Northwest Medical Center, Bentonville, for an animal bite. A 3-year-old boy was in the emergency room with lacerations to his check and neck from dog bites. The mother of the child reported the dog is a Pit Bull she is dog sitting and it does have a current rabies vaccination.

1:15 p.m. A resident of Bowen Street reported finding a wallet in the area of Choate Place Circle.

1:19 p.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on General Franz Sigel for an animal complaint. A woman reported her neighbor's three dogs had broken through the fence into her yard and that it happens repeatedly. Police were unable to contact the owner of the dogs.

1:52 p.m. Police were contacted by a Barry County, Mo., Sheriff's deputy to contact a Pea Ridge resident for a harassment complaint. The suspect was advised about the warning from the Missouri deputy.

2:07 p.m. A resident of St. Clair Street reported criminal mischief involving someone knocking her mailbox off the pole.

3:44 p.m. Police were dispatched to a resident on Zachary Street complained that a resident on Hutchinson Street was shooting fireworks that were so loud it shook his residence.

Sunday, June 29

10:16 a.m. A resident of Mariano Road reported his and his neighbors' mailboxes had been destroyed sometime during the night. Police discovered one mailbox pulled off the post, one pulled out of the ground and a trashcan over the third. Another resident of the area reported someone had run over his mailbox and driven into his yard.

1:47 p.m. Police took a report of a single-vehicle accident involving Alyssa Shook, 17, Pea Ridge, backing over a gas meter.

6:30 p.m. A resident of Pea Ridge who declined to give her last name or address complained about the noise from the helicopter and fireworks and said it would make her "service cat ... go crazy."

6:54 p.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on Blair Circle for a verbal disturbance. Neither participant wanted to press charges; the male resident left the house for the night.

Monday, June 30

7:03 a.m. A resident of South Harvey Wakefield reported that someone broke in his pickup truck and stole a duck call and burned the lanyard to which it was connected. The truck door had been left unlocked.
