Alumni to gather

The ninth annual Pea Ridge High School Alumni Gathering will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 12, in the Pea Ridge High School Cafeteria.

Lunch will be available; there will be a donation jar to help with costs.

As always, membership dues have primarily gone to support scholarships for graduating seniors, according to Jerry Nichols of the Pea Ridge Alumni Associaton.

"We have raised the bar again and are doing eight grants of $500 for the first semester and if the required grade point average is maintained, a second grant of $500 for the second semester," Nichols said.

The Alumni recipients this year were: Robert Devor, who wants to be a veterinarian; Rogger Devor, who wants a career in computer science or engineering; Alexis Hall, who would like to be a pediatrician; Kelly Green, who wants to be an industrial engineer; Jonas Stewart, who plans to major in communications; Jordan Ingram, who wants to be a social worker; Nicklaus Mooneyhan, major undecided; and Victoria Wilkerson, who wants to become a lawyer.

"Thank you, almuni, for helping make these eight scholarships possible. Your support from your membership dues are largely responsible for this assistance," Nichols said.

The Class of 1964 will celebrate its 50th year from graduation.

The Alumni Association is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization; donations are tax deductible.

All students, teachers, staff are welcome to join and to participate.
