Tuesday, Jan. 14

8:10 a.m. Police were dispatched to Standing Oaks subdivision for a suspicious vehicle in the neighborhood.

9 a.m. During the course of a drug interdiction search using police narcotics K9 units, police found marijuana in a vehicle belonging to Logan Wichert, 18, Pea Ridge, who was cited for possession of a controlled substance.

Wednesday, Jan. 15

10:20 a.m. Police were dispatched to Pea Ridge Veterinary Clinic for a stray dog being dropped off. Clinic employees said a man brought in a small Yorkshire terrier that was running around in the roadway near North Curtis Avenue and Pickens Road. The dog did not have city or rabies tags, but did have a collar. It was micro-chipped, but information was unavailable at the time. The dog was impounded.

Thursday, Jan. 16

10 a.m. Police were notified by a school nurse of a child who had been bitten by a dog. The 12-year-old child was treated by the school nurse. During the interview, it was learned that the child had been bitten and scratched by a neighbor's puppy a couple of days before.

Friday, Jan. 17

6:45 p.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on Weston Loop for a women who said she was at the house to pick up her children, but they were not there. It was determined the matter was a civil issue.

9:40 p.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on Benton Drive for a theft call. The resident reported a fireproof safe missing which contained important paperwork. There was no sign of forced entry.

10:10 p.m. A resident of Zachary Street reported his neighbors were throwing beer bottles into his yard.

Saturday, Jan. 18

2:25 p.m. Police were dispatched to a one-vehicle accident on Carr Street involving a vehicle driven by Carl. L. Barton, 33, Pea Ridge, who reported he was northbound on Carr, got too close to the edge of the pavement and went off the road into the ditch. Barton told police he attempted to get the vehicle back on the pavement but that the wind and gravel pulled him further into the ditch, according to the police report.

4:33 p.m. Police received a report of a breaking and entering of a vehicle parked at a residence on Lee Town Drive. The resident reported that at 4:30 a.m. he discovered a door ajar on his truck, which he had left unlocked. He said several items were missing. The resident reported that his brother's truck, which was also parked at that residence, was unlocked and two iPhones were missing from it.

4:57 p.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on John Montgomery Circle for a 911 hangup call. Police found a 16-year-old girl who was babysitting several children. It was discovered that a 4-year-old child was playing with an iPhone that was no longer in use, but was still capable of calling 911.

5:46 p.m. Police received a report of a reckless driver of a white Ford pickup truck on Arkansas Highway 72 coming into the city limits. They were unable to locate it.

10:21 p.m. As a result of a traffic stop on South Curtis Avenue, police arrested Joseph Atchison, 18, Pea Ridge, for obstructing governmental operations and minor in possession and on a felony rape warrant issued in connection with a report filed Dec. 22, 2013.

Sunday, Jan. 19

4:15 a.m. Police were dispatched to the area of Drew Lane for a noise complaint about a dog barking. Police heard the dog barking continuously, but were unable to contact the owner of the dog.

10:26 a.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on North Davis Street for an unresponsive male. After emergency personnel from Pea Ridge Fire/EMS checked the man and found no signs of life, the coroner was called.

4:48 p.m. Police picked up a stray dog from a residence on John Montgomery Circle and took it to the Pea Ridge Veterinary Office. It was a young Australian Sheppard mix puppy.

Monday, Jan. 20

3 p.m. Police were dispatched to a disturbance no longer in progress at a residence on Wade Lane. The resident reported that a male neighbor accused her of shooting her dog and threatened to shoot her and her husband. Police spoke to the suspect who claimed he did not threaten her. He was warned to have no contact with the woman or her husband.

11:16 a.m. Police were dispatched to Pea Ridge Veterinary Clinic where they met a 15-year-old male resident of Blair Circle who claimed he found a male Husky puppy near the intersection of Eat Hayes and Douglas streets. The dog was impounded.

11:16 a.m. Police were dispatched to Smith Street for a dog at large complaint. The complainant said her neighbor's pit bull had gotten loose and was acting aggressively towards her 10-year-old daughter. The owner of the dog was informed about city ordinances governing dogs.
