The Blackhawk basketball teams traveled to Greenland and lost both games to the Pirates. The Senior 'Hawks lost 68-32, while the Junior High 'Hawks lost a 34-33 battle.

Pea Ridge night policeman Lloyd Pifer was instrumental in breaking a major burglary case and laying the groundwork for the arrest of two suspects.

Freezing rain captured the countryside in its grip and retained its paralyzing hold for five days. An untold number of vehicles slid into ditches, however, City Marshal Johnny Demaree said that only one accident had to be worked during that time.

Pea Ridge Country Times

David Stockstill was named substitute principal for Pea Ridge High school. Stockstill was a professional baseball player who had a degree in physical education and social studies. He was said to stay until the spring when the Texas Rangers would need him to be there for spring training.

"Sudden Impact," starring Clint Eastwood, was playing at the movie theater at 7:15 every night.

The Pea Ridge School Board unanimously extended the contract of superintendent James Carlton to July, 1, 1986.

Two fires destroyed dwellings in the Pea Ridge area. One destroyed the trailer home of Calvin Cloer and the other destroyed the Charles Hook residence.

The December star students were Jamie Wagner, Joey Wiltgen, Beth Corron, Ericha Nichols, Amber Youngman, Sheldon Shrader, Summer Toepfer, Justin Hignite, Susan Didion, Summer Lettington, Steven Woods, Maggie Weidner, Jake Pahon, Tony Copp, Missy Swanson, Julie Fletcher, Amanda Churchill, Nikki Foster, Lindsay Raymer, Ashley Morgan and Carl Weaver.

Patricia Ann Campbell, John Patrick Coonce, Angela Dawn Frazier, Rica Ann Bertschy and Linda Kay O'Dell were among the 140 students named to the Dean's List at the Northwest Arkansas Community College.

The students named to the ninth grade honor roll were Jennifer Hook, Katrina Turner, Bryan Miller, Jennifer Waymack, Tony Humphrey, Alan Spivey and Freddy Walker.

Criminal violations continued to climb in Pea Ridge the year before, according to figures compiled by Police Chief Art Croswell. He said that the greatest increase involved burglaries. Croswell said that there were 14 burglaries in Pea Ridge in 1993 compared to six in 1992 and none in 1991.

The 2004 Colors Day King and Queen were Bo Whitted and Merry Miller. The Colors Day attendants were Cheyanne Nye and Dakota Canaday.

Four middle school students were expelled for smoking marijuana in a stairwell during lunch.

The First Baptist Church of Pea Ridge officially started building its new church building. The new property was just west of Pea Ridge on West Arkansas Highway 72.
