Monday, Jan. 6

1:30 p.m. A city Water Department employee reported theft of water from a residence in town. The incident is still under investigation.

7:50 p.m. A resident of Barnes Circle reported fraud involving credit card companies contacting him about fraudulent charges on his accounts totaling about $3,000.

Tuesday, Jan. 7

4:09 p.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on East Pickens Road for a 911 hang-up call. It was discovered a young child had inadvertently dialed 911.

6 p.m. A resident of Washburn Drive reported a stray dog came into his garage. Police caught the dog and took it to the Pea Ridge Vet Clinic.

8:35 p.m. Police were dispatched to the area of East Harris Street for a vehicle which hit a gas meter and left the scene of the accident. According to the police report, Pea Ridge Fire Department personnel had already stopped the gas leak and cleared the scene. Police found and arrested the driver, Benjamin R. Young, 18, Rogers, for driving on a suspended driver's license, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

Wednesday, Jan. 8

5:02 p.m. Police were advised that "a bunch of kids" were driving recklessly on Wade Lane. During the investigation, police learned that a resident of an apartment gave her 12-year-old son the keys and allowed him to drive her van on Wade Lane in front of the apartments. Police cited Melissa Sullivan, 46, Pea Ridge, for allowing a minor to drive.

7:09 p.m. Police assisted the Fire Department at the scene of a one-vehicle accident on Lee Town Road involving a Benton County road grader.

Thursday, Jan. 9

10:21 p.m. Police assisted Bentonville Police with a welfare check looking for a resident of Pea Ridge who had not reported to work in Bentonville on time. He was found and was safe.

Friday, Jan. 10

12:28 p.m. A resident of Frost Street reported a burglary involving cash stolen. Police found pry marks on the door. The incident is under investigation.

3:58 p.m. Police were dispatched to a business on West Pickens Road for an open line 911 call in which the caller reported someone having a stroke. The ambulance was called to check the vitals of the patient, who chose to be transported to the hospital by family members.

Saturday, Jan. 11

11:21 a.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on Drew Lane for an animal complaint. The complainant said her neighbor's dog bit her dog on the snout through the fence and would not let go.

4:53 p.m. Police were dispatched to a business on North Curtis Avenue for a welfare check for a woman who was wandering through the business and appeared to be confused. A family member was contacted and took her home.

5:17 p.m. A caller reported a reckless driver on North Curtis Avenue who had crossed the center line several times. The vehicle was found at EZ Mart; the driver was having a medical issue. Ambulance personnel were called to check on the driver. The driver refused to go to the hospital. The vehicle was released to a relative.

5:31 p.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on W.M.B. Franklin for a report of a stray dog which was picked up and taken to Pea Ridge Veterinary Clinic.

8 p.m. The School Resource Officer was notified of a 16-year-old female attempting to enter the gym lobby without paying. Police were called to assist. A vehicle with four juveniles was parked out front in the fire lane. As a result of the investigation, two juveniles -- a 16-year-old female and a 14-year-old male, both of Pea Ridge -- were taken to the Police Station. The male was cited for possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia. The female was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were released to their guardians with dates to appear in Benton County Juvenile Court. The driver, a 16-year-old female, and another passenger, a 14-year-old male, were released.

Sunday, Jan. 12

3:10 p.m. Police picked up a stray dog on South Harvey Wakefield and transported it to the Pea Ridge Veterinary Clinic.

5:14 p.m. Police were dispatched to the area of East Pickens Road east of Patterson Road for a welfare check. A vehicle was parked facing eastbound on the westbound lane shoulder. The driver was determined to be fine.

9:22 p.m. As a result of a traffic stop at Arkansas Highway 72 and It'll Do Road, Zachary R. Moore, 20, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Bentonville for a failure to appear on a DWI. The vehicle was released to the passenger.

Monday, Jan. 13

7:05 a.m. Police were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Arkansas Highways 94 and 265 involving vehicles driven by Bruce A. Socia, 56, Bella Vista, and Carman Dee Wright, 34, Bentonville. Both vehicles were eastbound when Socia rear-ended Wright, who was preparing to turn left onto Ark. Hwy. 265. There were no injuries reported.
