There's a new veterinarian in town.

Dr. Joshua Gibbs, DVM, has joined the staff at Pea Ridge Veterinary Clinic.

"We're glad to have him," Dr. Gary France, owner of Pea Ridge Veterinary Clinic, said. "He's a good ole' homegrown Arkansas boy. We're looking forward to having him and appreciate working with him."

An Arkansas native, Gibbs is from DeQueen where he graduated from high school. He then earned a bachelor of science in agriculture business from Arkansas Tech University. While in college, Gibbs joined the Arkansas National Guard and trained as a fire direction control specialist. He spent 10 months in Taji, Iraq, in 2004.

After returning from Iraq, he finished his undergraduate degree and went to work for a few years in various areas including in the lumber, railroad and gas/oil industry.

In 2010, I applied to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and was admitted in the May 2010 class. He spent a little more than two and a half years living on the Caribbean Island of St. Kitts, West Indies, where he received all of his basic book skills and quite a bit of hands on experience. He returned to the states in 2012 to complete his clinical year at Oklahoma State University, the school from which Dr. Gary France graduated from 40 years ago.

Gibbs and his wife, Tracey, have been married for 10 years. They have a son, Jaden.
