Lumber store opens doors

There’s a new store in town.

T.H. Rogers Lumber Company opened recently in the former Easley Hardware store on the southwest corner of North Curtis Avenue and West Pickens Road.

“It’s gone very, very well. We’re really pleased with the response,” Red Taylor, division manager, said.

Taylor said there are 34 retail operations with a wholesale operation in McAllister, Okla., and a general office in Edmund, Okla.

Stores are in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas. “We’re an employee-owned company,” Taylor said of the business which was established in 1901.

“We were studying the demographics of the area ... it looked like a good time,” Taylor said of opening the business in Pea Ridge. “We carry a full line of hardware and building materials - windows, doors, lumber- everything you need to build a house.”

“We’re mostly in smaller towns,” Taylor said.

The manager is Herb Richardson and assistant manger is Matt Townsend.

The store is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

An open house is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, June 28, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Saturday, June 29. Hot dogs will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

and door prizes will be drawn every 30 minutes from 10 a.m.

to 1 p.m. A 42-inch flat-screened television will be given away Saturday.
