Library Notes: Book sale set in former library building

By the time you are reading this the brickwork will be complete and the area cleaned up! We so appreciate the work the men did in this miserable heat! I really like the looks of the outside of our building.

More changes are coming - new shingles, landscaping and fencing. It just keeps getting better and better. First-time visitors to the library are very happy with the new facility.

All the work being done on the building did not adversely a◊ect story hour and library attendance in general. Approximately 40 children are registered for the story hour but not everyone shows up each time. They seem to enjoy the stories and crafts with Ms.

Beth and I appreciate herhard work.

I have wanted to have a book sale for some time but couldn’t come up with a location. Then it hit me - what better place than the old library - it is empty and has a working air conditioner. We have set the date as July 5 - 6 beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing until there are no more buyers. We have lots of books and our prices are cheap!

Come out and check out our selection of hardback and paperback fi ction and non-fiction works. If the temperatures continue in the high 90s, a good bookand a glass of sweet tea in the cool comfort of your home sounds really nice.

Thanks to everyone who has been donating books.

We have received many children’s books that we can place on the shelves.

The Summer Reading Program has gone so well that I really think we need to consider having one in the fall or winter. I am overjoyed that so many children are taking advantage of the library this summer.

This Fourth of July I hope we all take a few moments to remember all who fought and those who gave their lives for the freedoms we have and too often take for granted. However you are celebrating the holiday be safe.

Don’t forget to mark the book sale dates on your calendar. For all the latest library happenings, visit us on Facebook!

See you at the library!
