Warm fuzzies wanted

— New scarves, gloves, hats, mittens and socks for kids in need in the community are being collected in the “Warm Fuzzies for Kids” project by the Pea Ridge Optimist Club. Boxes for collection are at Arvest and Community First banks, City Hall and the Pea Ridge Water Department.

With the weather turning cooler, the local group realizes that there are children in Pea Ridge who need help in stayingwarm this winter, president Sandy Lasater said.

The goal is to collect items through the month of November and then work with Pea Ridge Schools to get the items to the children.

“The Optimist Club is all about helping children and we’re always looking for ways to help as many aspossible. Warm Fuzzies is our way of showing the kids of Pea Ridge that we care and want them to stay warm this winter,” Lasater said.

Although the target is to collect hats, gloves, mittens, scarfs and socks for all school ages, the Optimist Club will also accept new coats, jackets and monetary donations.
