A Swap Meet in Pea Ridge is scheduled from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Friday, Oct.

19, through Saturday, Oct.

20, at Derry Camp auction, located 1/4 mile east of Pea Ridge on Ark. Hwy. 72.

Limited inside spaces, but plenty of outdoor spaces.

No fee for setup but donations will be accepted.

Pea Ridge Golf Classic slated for Oct. 20

The Pea Ridge Golf Classic four-person scramble is set for Saturday, Oct. 20, at Big Sugar Golf Club.

Free breakfasts will be offered beginning at 6 a.m.

at White Oak Station and lunch will be served at The Turn, the restaurant on the course.

Teams will be drawn on Wednesday evening, Oct. 17, at The Turn. Players must be 21 years of age and either work in Pea Ridge, live in Pea Ridge, be a member of Big Sugar Golf Club or be a Pea Ridge High School alumni.

Ham & Bean Dinner, Pie Auction set for Oct. 20

The annual Ham & Bean Dinner and Pie Auctionsponsored by the Pea Ridge High School Alumni Association is set for 5-7 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 20, in the Pea Ridge Middle School cafeteria. Dinners are $6 for adults, $4 for children ages 5-10 and free for children 4 and under.

The Pie Auction will begin at 6 p.m. with Derry Camp as auctioneer.

The annual fall Dinner and Pie Auction is a fundraiser for the Alumni Association, raising scholarship funds for Pea Ridge High School graduating seniors for 2013.

The Alumni Association is also selling Blackhawk chairs. The sturdy, folding chairs, made by Kijaro, feature the Pea Ridge School colors and are emblazoned with the Pea Ridge Blackhawk mascot. They are currently being sold at home football games and other local events. Also, chairs are on display and may bepurchased for $30 at the Arvest Bank lobby and at The Times newspaper office in Pea Ridge. Proceeds from the Blackhawk Chairs Project benefit the Alumni Scholarship Fund for this year’s Pea Ridge High School graduating seniors.

Pea Ridge Historical Society seeking donations

The Pea Ridge Historical Society is currently engaged in a project to preserve and renovate the Heritage Building - the old lunchroom/SEEK building - to further extend its long years of service. To raise funds for the Heritage Center Renovation Project, the Historical Society is appealing to all former students of the Pea Ridge Schools, and to members of the wider community for support and financial help. A special account has been established at Arvest Bank of Pea Ridge to receive donations toward the renovation.

To contribute, make checks payable to “Pea Ridge Historical Society” and notated for the Heritage Center Renovation.
