PEA RIDGE — The Andante Music Club of Bella Vista, which is af- filiated with the Arkansas and National Federation of Music Clubs, is sponsoring its 23rd annual young musi- cal artists’ competition on April 7, 2013. The competi- tion is open to students from ages 8 to 18 who re- side in Benton County.
Students will be required to submit an entry applica- tion along with an audition CD of no more than five minutes in the categories of piano, strings, voice, guitar, organ or any orchestral instrument. Students may enter more than one cat- egory, but only one entry per category. Performers for the April 7 recital will be chosen from the audi- tion submissions.
Winners of the young musical artists’ competi- tion will be selected from each category and age groups. (Age groupings will be determined based on number of applications received.) Monetary prizes will be awarded for the top participants in each cate- gory and a scholarship will be given for a week camp at Inspiration Point in Eureka Springs for voice, piano or stings.
This notice is to allow music teachers time to prepare their students for the competition in April. Applications will be sent to teachers at a later date along with the address of where to send the entries. Teachers or students may get additional information by calling Terri Fontenot at 855-1001.
