CLUB NEWS

— Beta Alpha of ESA will meet at 6 p.m. Dec. 4 at the School Heritage Building.

Anyone interested in learning more about the organization, getting involved in the community or ready to join is invited to attend.

The agenda will include adopting a family, Kids or Angels for Christmas, and planning our “Cocoa for a Cause” event in January.

Ridge Rockers Square Dance Club

There’s a new square dance club in the area - Elm Springs Squares of Elm Springs. They dance the first and third Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Methodist Church of Elm Springs.

There is a potluck dinner at every dance. They are currently providing square dance lessons from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays. Grant Roth is the instructor/caller.

The Ridge Rockers, Pea Ridge Square Dance Club, had a Fabulous Fifties Fish Fry on Oct. 26. Jim and Linda Downey fried up a huge mess of catfish that was second to none. With Pea Ridge square dance lessons ending Dec. 14, more new dancers will be on the floor.

Square dance lessons willbegin in January at Riordan Hall in Bella Vista. Call caller Grant Roth at 231-2043 for information.

New Meadowbrook Home Extension Club

New Meadowbrook Home Extension Club met at 10 a.m. Nov. 14 at the First Baptist Church in Garfield. The meeting was brought to order by president Karen Launderville with all members reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

The devotions were given by Launderville from Thessalonians 5-18 and she read statements from Theodore Roosevelt and Ray Stenard Baker. She also read poems, “Thankful for you” and “We’re Thankful For.”

A discussion was held by members that attended the enjoyable Fall Council Meeting.

Roll call was answered with “Good Buys of the Season.” The minutes were read and approved and the treasurer’s report given by Rheta Van Doren.

The president described all the procedures to the club of making the Project Book for the next year and the contents that need to go into the book.

The December meeting will be held at Autumn Place in Pea Ridge with the residents in Independent Living. Jean Landauer is planning and organizing the program and plans were made for the food and gifts to be taken by members for the party and dinner that day.

The meeting was adjourned with members stating the Extension Homemaker’s Creed.
