Man who found boys wanted for molestation in Washington state

— A man called police to report finding two small children wandering on AsbothStreet, but, as the story unfolded more questions were raised than answered.

As it turned out, thechildren, 4- and 6-year-old boys, were from a residence on Wood Street.

The man, who initially gave police the name Allen Wright, claimed he found the children on Asboth Street and walked aroundthe neighborhood trying to help them find their home. Police found them at McCulloch and Van Dorn streets. When asked for his identification, Wright claimed he did not have an ID and he had come from Texas.

Police took custody of the children, found their home on Wood Street and returned them to their guardian, who had been asleep.

The children claimed they had climbed out of the bedroom window.

Further investigation revealed that Wright was Floyd Allen Wright, 46, and he did have an expired and suspended Arkansas driver’s license. He is a convicted felon with a history of cruelty to children and an active warrant from Washington for first-degree child molestation without extradition, according to police. He also had active warrants out of Little Flock for numerous failures to appear dating back to 2001.

After Pea Ridge police contacted authorities in Washington, the child molestation warrant was reissued to include extradition.

Wright remained in the Benton County Jail Tuesday awaiting extradition to Washington State.

The children were taken to Children’s Advocacy Center for interviews. Police said that from the CAC interview, no molestation was revealed.
