CHURCH NEWS: First Baptist Church Garfield

— A blood drive will be held from 5 - 8 p.m. Aug. 15, at the FBC Garfield parking lot, 17784 Marshall St., Garfield.

During the summer, Wednesday night will be “Family Night.” A meal will be served at 6 p.m., followed by youth and children activities at 6:30 p.m. and adult Bible study and prayer at 7 p.m.

AWANA will begin on Sept. 5.

First Baptist Church Pea Ridge

TeamKids begins next week. The Wednesday night program for kindergarten through sixth-grade students meets at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Mothers’ Day Out is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays for children from 6 weeks of age to 5 years. Cost is $40 for 6 weeks to 1 year; $30 for children from 2-5 and there is a multi-child discount. There is a one-time registration fee of $30 and an annual supply fee of $25. Pea Ridge Free Will Baptist Church

The monthly church service with area churches will be held at the Pea Ridge FWB Church at 7 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 17, with Doug Adkins, pastor of the Bentonville FWBC, bringing the message. There will be special singing. Visitors are welcome.

Levi Mahurin will be the youth leader on Sunday, Aug. 19. There will be a special guest speaker with service beginning at 6 p.m.

New Prospect Baptist Church, Garfield

New Prospect Baptist Church will have the Warren Family in concert at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19. No admission. A love offering will be taken.

The Warren Family does “family style” southern gospel music, with a slight bluegrass influence. They specialize in playing live music with singing. Those instruments are guitar, bass guitar, fiddle, keyboard, banjo, dobro and steel guitar.

Bella Vista Christian Church

Sunday, Aug. 19, is Life Group Sunday at Bella Vista Christian Church. Patrick Detkin, Pastor of Grow Ministries at The Crossing in the Costa Mesa, Calif., will be the guest speaker at both the 9 a.m. Contemporary Worship and 10:45 a.m. Blended Worship. Life Groups are small Bible studies that meet at various locations and days during the week. Sign-ups are now being taken for groups that meet in homes and at the church.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Winston Carter at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25 in the church Worship Center. Winston was one of the charter members of Bella Vista Christian when it was started 37 years ago.

The Annual Ministry Fair will be held on Aug. 26. Each of the 20 - plus ministries will be represented with information on how you can share your passions and spiritual gifts with others.
