— The F.L. McBryde, Jr. home, located in the Twelve Corners Community, was destroyed by fire.

Approximately 60 children hunted 15 dozen Easter eggs on the school campus as guests of the Beta Alpha Chapter of the ESA Sorority. In the 1- to 6-year age group, the “magic egg” was found by Brandon Cawthorn. Marla Gastineau found the most eggs among the girls, and Travis Woods was the boy finding the most eggs. In the 6- to 12-year-old age group, Belinda Adcock found the “magic egg” and was also the girl who found the most eggs. The boy finding the most eggs was Jerry McCrary.

The future of the Pea Ridge PTA was uncertain due to lack of interest. No one accepted the posts of president or vice president.

Winners of the Beta Alpha Easter egg hunt were Kevin Thomasson, Jason Jobe, Mindy Phillips, Jeramey Webb, Robert Morrison, Angela Shepherd and Trish McAllister.

Gateway Chapel Academy held the first annual spaghetti fund-raising dinner. Nearly 200 dinners were served and more than $600 was raised to help fund the private Christianschool.

Winners of the “skate-athon” held by Beta Alpha for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital were: Dana Crain, third place; Michelle Johnson, second place; andSheila Lakin, first place.

Neighbors and people living in the area where a rash of rural grass and brush fires had been set were asked to report anything suspicious to the authorities.

A North Little Rock construction company was the low bidder on a project to replace a bridge on Benton County Road 783 near Avoca. The low bid was $295,112.43.

Two Pea Ridge residents were honored at the annual dinner of the Pea Ridge Chamber of Commerce.

Sheila Musteen, youth director at First BaptistChurch, was named recipient of the Fred McKinney Leadership Award. The Eva Patterson Pioneer Award was presented to Pea Ridge Fire Chief Jerry Collins.

Two Pea Ridge women were among first place winners in the Ozark Pastel Society’s Second Annual Show in Neosho, Mo. Wanda Roe won first place in floral and Mary Hunt won first place in still life.

Top salesmen in the PTO candy sale were: Jessica Castro, Cassi Castro, Abby Hanson, Rachel Hignite, Paul Hignite and Isaac Castro.

Pea Ridge School Boardmembers accepted the resignation of Ron Williams, high school band director, and sought to hire a new band director.

Progress forced the Benton County Historical Society to move a 16-yearold marker a few yards east on U.S. Highway 62.

The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department planned to widen this road to five lanes.

The land on which the marker sat was to become a ditch.

Beta Alpha Sorority officers were installed.

They were Dorothy Williams, president; Teresa Root, vice-president; Cerilla Doyle, secretary; and Shannon Rininger, treasurer.
