Book sale in future library building

I am happy to be able to tell you that due to the hard work of a lot of people, the library book sale will be held in the future home of the library. We were able to utilize the services of three men from the Benton County Jail for two days.

Their help was greatly appreciated. They worked removing drywall and ceiling tiles, and pulling up carpet.

A full dumpster has been removed from the property.

The books for the book sale have been moved into the building and library volunteers are in the process of sorting them.

The community has been generous with their contributions and we are very thankful.

We are doing something different this year with a preview sale from 4 - 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct.7. This will give all those folks who will be busy with the Mule Jump on Saturday the opportunity to stop by Friday and purchase books.

There are many titles to choose from in both paperback and hardback.

We have fiction, non-fiction, romance, mystery and everything in between. There are even a few books for you science fiction andfantasy readers. There are a number of books and magazines on steam power, some older books on amateur radio, lots of Biblical and inspirational books and lots of cookbooks and food magazines with recipes to make your mouth water. And there are, as always, a large number of children’s books. Most books will sell for $1 or less. Don’t forget that we have a very large number of magazines - both current and some from previous years.

The September/October issue of The Ozarks Mountaineer has a two-page spread on the Pea Ridge Mule Jump. Stop by the library to read about the“Olympic Mules” at Pea Ridge. Text and photos are by Nancy Hartney of Fayetteville.

Remember the sale is at the former Mercy Clinic on North Curtis Avenue across the parking lot from Collier Drug Store. There will be plenty of off street parking.

Volunteers will be available to help you with your purchase. They will even help you carry your purchase to the car!

Hope to see you at the sale!
