Food drives successful

— Students at Pea Ridge schools collected canned goods to give to the Ministerial Alliance for food baskets for the Angel Tree project. Students at Pea Ridge Intermediate collected the most food.

Applications for the Angel tree are available at First Baptist Church.

Many “angels” have already been adopted by school groups, according to pastor Al Fowler. Two angel trees will be put up - one at Arvest Bank and one at Community First Bank.

Employees for the city are planning their 12th annual food drive for needy families in the area. All donations will be used to provide a traditional Christmas meal for a family of four to six people. Last year food baskets for over 75 families were delivered.

To make a donation, mail a check to P.O. Box 29, Pea Ridge, AR 72751, or deliver to the Pea Ridge Water Department, 821 Slack St. (next door to Dollar General).
