Harper awarded for work with FFA

Wes Harper, vice president of the Pea Ridge Future Farmers of America, was the winner of the supervised agriculture experience of the month. Harper’s S.A.E. involves working daily at the Oak View Animal Clinic.

When asked what he does at Oak View, Wes said: “I do a variety of things. I make sure the animalsare fed, walked and medicated if needed, assist if an animal needs to be restrained. I make sure the barn is clean and functional, take care of the horses and heifers. Also, I help close up at night.”

Harper said that for a living he wants to be a rifleman in the United States Marine Corps or a welder.

He said working at the clinic has taught him howto deal with people, responsibility and leadership, and it also has improved his character.
