Nichols fete 50th

— The Rev. Jerry and Nancy Nichols will celebrate the 50th anniversary of their wedding at a reception in their honor from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, in the Community Room of the Pea Ridge Emergency Services Building, 293 S. Curtis Ave.

Jerry Nichols and the former Nancy Patterson were married Jan. 8, 1961, at the Pea Ridge Methodist Church on Jan. 8, 1961. Both Jerry and Nancy are natives of Pea Ridge.

Nancy was the daughter of Ray and Zula Patterson and graduated from Pea Ridge High School in 1957.

Jerry was the son of Russell and Eunice Nichols and graduated from Pea Ridge High School in 1958.

The couple has two children and three grandchildren.

Their son, Jeff Nichols and his wife Mary live near Ames, Iowa. Their daughter Jennifer Caldwell and her husband Bill live in Swifton, Ark., and have three daughters: Shannon, Emily, and Micah.

Jerry was pastor of Methodist churches in Missouri, Iowa and Arkansas from 1962 to 2002. They returned to Pea Ridge in retirement in 2002.

The couple’s children and grandchildren are hosting the reception, and all friends and acquaintances are invited to share in the celebration. They request no gifts.
