Youngest ’Hawks end season

— Saturday, Oct. 24, the second- and third-grade football season came to an end. In the first game, the Black team played the Gray team with the Black team winning. In the second game, White faced the Red team with the White team taking the victory. The White ’Hawks also defeated a Bentonville team earlier this year to have a record of 7-0.

The defense was dominant this year, allowing only 20 points in their seven games. The defense was led by outside linebackers Jonathan Watson, Mathew Watson and middle linebacker Braydon Phillips. The D-line was equally as strong, anchored by Dalton Nesbitt, Colton Seacrist, Tate Busey, Brody Weber, Cade Prince, Dylan Wallace and Dillon Fannon. However, if the opponents were able to break free they were quickly stopped by the speedy secondary of Carson Rhine and Todd Johnson.

The White offense was able to score many different ways, either with big fullback Mathew Watson or fleet-footed Rhine, however QB Jon Watson was always in command and completed the triple threat. These backs enjoyed great blocking behind Prince, Phillips, Nesbitt, Weber, Busey, Seacrist, Johnson, Wallace and Fannon.

As for Pea Ridge football, the future looks bright. Every team showed great improvement and a competitive spirit to win. This is a direct reflection of the players desire to learn, the coaches desire to teach and the parents allowing their children to participate.
