Chili Cook-Off
GARFIELD -- It's that time of year again when things "heat up" around NEBCO Fire-EMS Station 1. The 13th annual Chili Cook-Off is set from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at the NEBCO Community Center, U.S. Highway 62 and Wimpy Jones Road, Garfield.
People's Choice Awards will be given to first-, second- and third-place cook-off winners and for Best Booth presentation. Come enjoy all-you-can-eat chili, including drink, for $6 per adult and $3 per child ages 5 to 12. Children under 5 eat free. Desserts are available.
Sponsors and cooks will be accepted until Wednesday, Feb. 22. To be a part of the fun, either as a cook or a sponsor, contact the administration office at 479-359-3134.
