Come in for a gardening book

Here we are in the last week of March and time to tackle all those gardening chores. Come browse our gardening section for some ideas. I attempted to do a little clean up in my yard and discovered the red wasps are out already. Had really hoped they would not be around this year.

The library will be hiring a part-time person who can work seven to 12 hours per week. When trained, they will be working each Monday and an occasional Saturday. Duties will include working with our patrons, checking materials in and out, shelving materials and limited assistance to patrons using the computers. Applications may be picked up at the library during regular operating hours. Applicants must be able to pass a police background check.

Much has been accomplished with our remodel project. I believe that most of the "dirty" work is complete and painting is the next step. We are happy to see a dream coming true. Soon it will be time to shop for a refrigerator, microwave, window coverings and table and chairs.

We have posted several new signs in the library in the last few weeks: New Hours, Pardon our Dust and the latest one asking parents to please stay with their children while in the library. We have had a few instances of children climbing on items in the children's area. We certainly don't want anyone falling and sustaining an injury.

From time to time, we will feature a popular author. Currently featured is Danielle Steel. A number of her books are in the display area to the left of the fireplace. Ms. Steel appeared on "Good Morning America" recently to promote her latest title "Property of a Noblewoman." She has just completed her 150th book. Over 800 million copies of her books have been sold worldwide.

Thank you for your continued support of the library, especially during our remodel!

See you at the library!
