Immunizations changed
Beginning this fall, seventh-graders must have a Tdap if it has been at least two years since they had tetanus, according to the new state Immunization Rules and Regulation.
The T-dap is being recommended over the regular tetanus due to the recent outbreaks of pertussis in Arkansas. The old rule was that a tetanus was recommended every 10 years preventively and every five years when a person was injured.
