Items needed include pencils, 24-count crayons, 1-inch binders, glue sticks, cap erasers, expo markers, composiiton notebooks, rulers, markers, backpacks, paper towels, Kleenex, Clorox wipes, scissors, earbuds, colored pencils, index cards, loose leaf paper, post-it notes and pencil boxes or pouches. Cash donations (which will be used to purchse bulk school supplies) are also welcome.

The two events are designed to collect school supplies and then distribute them to Pea Ridge students so that every student is able to begin school with the supplies needed, according to B.J. Dye with Bright Futures.

The Back to School Bash, a community effort first begun by members of First Baptist Church, and now a joint effort with Bright Futures, had more than 150 students visit last year for breakfast, free school supplies, clothes and haircuts.

School supplies and backpacks are given away; students must be present.

"Our school and community have done a remarkable job in the past in preparing our students to return to school," Fullmer said. "These two events have a huge impact on the lives of many students."

"All donations given stay in the community and go to the Pea Ridge School District students at the Back to School Bash held on Aug. 4," Dye said.
