Wreck results in arrests

The investigation into a one-vehicle roll-over crash resulted in several arrests.

At 1:09 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, police and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the area of Hayden Road just north of the City Park for a one-vehicle rollover accident with possible entrapment.

According to police, when they arrived on the scene they saw a maroon Chevrolet Impala on its top facing north. A male was unconscious handing out of the back-driver side window on the ground, another male appeared to be unconsious lying on the ground away from the vehicle and a woman was sitting up nearby talking on her phone. The woman, Swindell said the vehicle belonged to her. She said Newell was driving.

Both males were transported by helicopter ambulance to hospitals. Swindell was transported by ground ambulance.

Arrested were Stephanie Swindell, 35, Rogers, for possession of meth or cocaine with purpose to deliver, possession of Sch. IV or V with purpose to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia; Phillip M. Kendall, 27, Rogers, for possession of meth or cocaine with purpose to deliver and possession of Sch. IV or V; and Steve S. Newell, 30, Rogers, for fictitious tags, failure to register, no proof of insurance, reckless driving, possession of meth or cocaine with the purpose to deliver, possession of Sch. IV or V with the purpose to deliver and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
