Maggie Fletcher, a 2018 graduate of Pea Ridge High School, opened her new hair salon Friday evening with a ribbon cutting and celebration.

Fletcher, who, along with her mother, Lawanda Keene, bought the salon at 150 W. Pickens Road from Lea Isgrigg in March.

"We have done a full remodel," Keene said.

Fletcher recently graduated from the Paul Mitchell School of Cosmology. She and her mother will both work in the salon.

Keene, a 1995 graduate of the Marcel-Royal Beauty School, said: "I have been in the business for 23 years and will be working at Maggie's as well as a salon in Bentonville, Laura Estudiante, where I've worked for 22 years."

"We offer all hair care cutting, styling, perms, coloring, conditioning, keratin blowouts, extensions, facial waxing, makeup and we are offering birthday party packages," Keene said. "As of now we are selling Kenra products Big Sexy products and are looking into several other product lines including Paul Mitchell products.

Maggie's Salon is open Monday through Saturday by appointment including evenings.

"We bought the salon after much prayer, consideration and talking with Maggie about where she would like to make her career happen," Keene said. "She loves her hometown and we thought this would be a great place for her to start her career.

"I have always enjoyed working in Bentonville but have a lot of Pea Ridge clients, so this is a great opportunity for me to be closer to home a few days a week as well as getting to work along side my daughter a few days a week."
