Sandra L. Gabbard

Sandra L. Gabbard, 46, of Seligman, Mo., died Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Cassville, Mo. She was born Aug. 1, 1971, in Rogers, Ark., the daughter of Sherman and Mary (Burns) Gabbard.

She was a graduate of Southwest High School at Washburn, Mo. She had been employed as a waitress. Later she assembled carts for the handicapped and was currently employed at TRG recycling in Bentonville. She was of the Assembly of God faith.

She was preceded her in death by her grandfather.

Survivors are her parents of Seligman; her grandmother, Ella Mae Burns of Seligman; two sisters, Cindy Canard of Rogers and Rhonda Waller of Gateway, Ark.; two nieces, Sarah Waller and Erica Canard, both of Rogers; a nephew, Deric Canard of Rogers; two great-nephews, Phury and Malcolm Estrada; and aunts and uncles.

Memorial services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at OK Assembly of God Church in Washburn, Mo., with the Rev. Bob Burns officiating.

Burial was in Seligman Cemetery.

Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

Charles 'Charlie' Leroy Gabbert

Charles "Charlie" Leroy Gabbert, 65, of Rogers, Ark., died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017, in Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, Ark. He was born July 3, 1952, in Claremore, Okla., to Bud Leroy Gabbert and Mable Gene Barry Gabbert.

He married Brenda Lou Greenlee on Oct. 8, 1976, in Tulsa, Okla.

He was owner and operator of Gabbert Trucking. He enjoyed camping and fishing. He coached his daughters and many other young women as they were growing up; he loved children and was involved with youth sports. He never met a stranger. His laugh and smile were contagious to anyone he came in contact with. He was very sociable and enjoyed meeting new people and talking with people about his family. His greatest love was his grandchildren. He would be found attending all their sporting events and cheering for them in all their endeavors.

Survivors are his wife, Brenda Gabbert of the home; two daughters, Mindy and husband Daniel Bowlin of Pea Ridge, Ark., and Michelle and husband Tyler Gill of Rogers; two brothers, Donald and wife Eva Gabbert of Coweta, Okla., and Barry and wife Zelda of Ponca City, Okla.; and four grandchildren, Emory and Linley Bowlin and Kaysen and Eastyn Gill.

Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, in the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home, Springdale.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, in Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel, with pastor Larry Petton officiating.

Burial was in Elm Springs Cemetery under the direction of the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Springdale.

Denise Ann Cook

Denise Ann Cook, 47, died Sept. 3,2017, in Bentonville, Ark. She was born on Dec. 8, 1969, in Springdale, Ark., to Alvin and Patsy (Cartwright) Rector.

She was the wife of John Cook of Garfield, Ark.

She enjoyed fishing, hand sewing and playing with her granddaughter.

Survivors are her husband; parents; son, John M. Cook (Alex) and daughter, Sara Cook, both of Garfield; granddaughter, Kaylee Cook; in-laws, Jasper and Janice Cook of Garfield; brother, Shawn (Jenny) Burkes and their son, Hunter, of Rogers, Ark.; sister, Heather (Floyd) Crouch and their children, Payton, Grayson and Kaitlyn, of Clifty, Ark.; brothers-in-law; Jason (Keresa) Cook and Jasper Cook (Alyssa Manuel) of Garfield; and nephews, Rodney and Randy Cook.

Visitation was 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, in Rollins Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, in Rollins Chapel.

Burial followed in Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Jimmy Dale Wilson Sr.

Jimmy Dale Wilson Sr., 62, of Rogers, Ark., died Monday, Sept. 4,2017. He was born Dec. 2, 1954, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Norma Jean Holman Wilson Ashley and Brooks Harrison Wilson.

He will be remembered as a kind, generous, helpful, loving man who was always laid back. He enjoyed the simple things, playing guitar and singing, "tinkering" with cars, riding his motorcycle and classic country music.

He was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Sharon Davis; his infant brother, Billy Wilson; and stepfather, Hugh Jackson Ashley.

Survivors are his mother; three daughters, Mindi Stewart (Leonard) of Rogers, Amanda Flynn (Jason) of Pea Ridge, Ark., and Amy Souza (Jeff) of California; a son, Jimmy Wilson Jr. (Toni) of Rogers; two sisters, Jeanette Wesson (Rick) of Garfield, Ark., and Sandy Wesson of Bentonville, Ark.; a brother, Shane Wilson of Rogers; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews; and dear friends.

Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, in the chapel of Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.

A memorial service was held from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at Stewart's Automotive, 2600 NE Hudson Road, Rogers.

Billy Joe Brace

Billy Joe Brace, 80, of Rogers, Ark., died Sept. 5, 2017, in Mercy Hospital in Rogers. He was born Jan. 12, 1937, in Rogers to Earnest Fenton Brace and Elsie Vera Edith Guyll Brace.

He married Melba J. Townzen Dec. 20, 1958.

He was a self-employed carpenter, loved deer hunting, gardening and dominoes. He was a jokester who loved his family and grandkids very much. He loved to read the Bible, especially the book of Revelation, and was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Rogers.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a daughter-in-law, Theresa Brace; a brother, Lester Brace; and a great-granddaughter, Kaylee Herron.

Survivors are a son, Billy Brace of Rogers; six daughters, Sherry Brace and partner, Kathleen Hale of Fayetteville, Ark., Pam Dye and husband, Ricky of Garfield, Ark., Kathy Lovstead and husband, Bob of Seligman, Mo., Kim Williamson and husband, Mark of Rogers, Jessica Brace and partner, Justin Foster of Rogers, and Jennifer Taylor and husband, Anthony of Centerton, Ark.; two brothers, James Guyll and Junior Brace of Rogers; four sisters, Anabelle Elders of Huntsville, Ark., Betty Townsend, Glenda Mulkey and Janet Henson, all of Rogers; 14 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, in the funeral home.

Graveside service was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, in Walnut Hill Cemetery, with Brother Travis Baker officiating.

Arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.
