Doris Lavon Arnold Moore

Doris Lavon Arnold Moore, 88, of Verona, Mo., died Sept. 3, 2017, at Cox Hospital in Monett, Mo. She was born Sept. 22, 1928, in Harman County, Okla., to Roger Thurman Sustaire and Ethel Pearl Craven Sustaire.

She was a homemaker and later worked as a cook for Bates Hospital in Bentonville for 15 years. She enjoyed going to Bluegrass festivals, crocheting, sewing and canning vegetables and fruit. She was a member of Eastside Church of Christ in Monett.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Jess Arnold; her second husband, Roy Moore; two brothers, William and J. Sustaire; three sisters, Velma Harris, Linda Jo Sustaire and Mary Webb; a grandson, Lester Arnold; and a great-grandson Ryder Harmon.

Survivors are five sons, Jess Arnold (Joy) of Pea Ridge, Danny Arnold (Linda) of Wilson, Okla., John Arnold of Verona, Mo., and Joe Arnold, and Paul Arnold (Claudia), all of Pea Ridge; a daughter, Mary Steele of Youngstown, Fla.; a brother, James Sustaire of Salmon, Idaho; adopted son, David Cockrell of Purdy, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

There is no visitation scheduled.

Graveside service is set for 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at Arnold Cemetery in Pea Ridge.

Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

Marion C. Whitehead

Marion C. Whitehead, 86, of Forrest City, Ark., died early Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, in his home. He was born Jan. 29, 1931, to Marion J. Whitehead and Iva J. Allen Whitehead in Walnut Ridge, Ark.

He was retired from Airtherm Corporation and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting and fishing.

He married Patricia A. Thompson in 1956.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Candice Halberth.

Survivors are his wife, Patricia A. Thompson; two daughters, Cynthia A. Halbert and husband Claude and Carla J. Towery, all of Forrest City; two sons, Mark J. Whitehead and wife Ruthanne of Bentonville and David W. Whitehead and wife Becky of Garfield, Ark.; three grandchildren, Julie Hickman and husband Casey, Chad Halbert and wife Meghan and Tiffany Whitehead; and six great-grandchildren. A granddaughter Candice Halbert preceded him in death.

Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5,2017, in Stevens Funeral Home.

Burial followed in Bell Cemetery in Palestine, Ark.
