Hello Pea Ridge and the greater northern corner of Northwest Arkansas.

My name is Debi Hale. I am a third generation Northwest Arkansas native and have been a Pea Ridge resident for the past two years. This is a great area, and like many of you, I love the idea of seeing intentional positive growth of our town.

The Pea Ridge Community Library just may be one of the best-kept secrets in town. This space of devoted city employees, fabulously storied regular patrons, and a handful of enthusiastic Middle and High School volunteers, is definitely worth dropping by to take a look. The library has many weekly programs, games, crafts, guest speakers and much, much more, such as the ever growing DVD collection. All of these things are free to Pea Ridge residents and area families with a library card.

I'd like to tell you about a way to make this gem in our community even better.

The Friends of the Pea Ridge Community Library is a member based, volunteer driven 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization that exists to raise funds, awareness and resources, exclusively for the purpose of increasing Pea Ridge Community Library's capacity to better serve our great community. Everyone is welcome to participate.

The Friends of Pea Ridge Community Library is about to kick-off the bi-annual membership drive. You can sign up beginning Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the library. There will be a Friends of Pea Ridge Library Board meeting open to the public that night at 6 p.m. in the library's community room; refreshments will be served. I encourage you to attend to find out more.
