A 69-year-old man was in the Benton County Jail with no bond set Friday charged with felony second-degree sexual assault as the result of an investigation.

Ricky Derrold Faler, 69, Pea Ridge, was arrested by Pea Ridge Police on Nov. 14 as a result of information gathered during the investigation.

Pea Ridge Police received information from the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children's Division hotline stating that a 14-year-old girl had been "forced into a relationship" with Faler.

The girl had been observed to becoming more withdrawn and a counselor reported the information to the hotline. She was interviewed at the Children's Advocacy Center.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the man forces the girl to kiss him and he fondles her inappropriately. The situation was reported to have been occurring for nearly a year and the youth said she was initially fearful of reporting it.
