Veterans Gary Blackburn and Joseph Mashburn.

Blackburn, current mayor of Garfield and retired Chief Postal clerk, served in the Naval Reserve for 25 years.

His uncle, Joseph Mashburn, retired from the Army Reserve, serving for 20 years. Major Mashburn began his military career as an enlisted field medic, seeing combat duty in the Korean conflict. Upon graduating from the University of Arkansas, he received a commission, and retired as a major.
